Good morning, Faith’ers,
A small recap of our last congregational meeting.  The surveys were collected and the information is being parsed to discern what Faith needs from a pastor.
There were something like 27 applicants for the job, two of which were selected for interviews along with Brent.
Please pray for the church, the discernment team, the families of the discernment team during this busy and trying time, the congregation, and that GOD reveals his will for Faith’s future to the team.

Good morning, Faith’ers,

Welcome to the page on Faith’s website where we will provide key information about our progress during this season of pastoral transition. As we discussed at our last congregational meeting, before we ask “who should be our next pastor?” or even “what gifts and skills should our next pastor have?”, we are going to ask “how does God view Faith?” and “where is God leading Faith in the next 5 -10 years?” We will be in a better position to answer the first two questions once we answer the last two. So, this next season in our pastoral transition requires that we take time to reflect and seek God’s guidance about how our church should represent His kingdom here in Waterville, Maine in
For those unable to attend our last congregational meeting, here’s a few highlights of what is ahead during this time of reflection:

First, prayer is essential to the success of our efforts, because it acknowledges our dependence upon the Holy Spirit as we seek the will of the Father and the mind of Christ. With this in mind, in addition to the efforts instituted thus far, starting on June 2nd at 5 pm,
we will have a monthly congregational meeting on the first Sunday of each month. This meeting will always begin with corporate prayer, and may include a time of teaching, updates on our progress or for questions and answers, but it will always include prayer.
Second, as part of our time of  reflection, we ask each member or regular attender to please time to take a survey entitled CHAT (Church Health Assessment Tool) (for more information and how to take the survey see the attached PDF). It does take some time to complete (set aside 25-30 minutes), but with your participation, this tool will be extremely helpful to the Discernment Team as we ask these crucial questions about our church.
Third, as part of our conversation about the future of Faith, an elder and discernment team member will be visiting each small group to discuss these questions. As you prepare for
these meetings, please take time to consider the passages from Scripture on the attached PDF that about talk about what our life as the Church should look like. They are not exhaustive, to be sure, but will help you be prepared for the group discussion.

Last, communication is vital for us to walk through this transition in a God-honoring manner. So, if you have any questions, or comments, please feel free to submit them using the form to the right, or to email
In Christ,
The Discernment Team
